Dr. Masoud Ghohestani
DR. MASOUD GHOHESTANI
Dr. Ghohestani is originally from Lincoln, Nebraska where he started his undergraduate program at University of Nebraska, majoring in Biological Sciences and Chemistry. He received his Bachelors of Sciences Degree, with Honors, in 1994. In the Fall of that year, he started his Doctor of Optometry program at the Ohio State University. He completed an internship program at the Dayton VA Medical Center and graduated, with Honors, in 1998. Dr. Ghohestani holds active optometric licenses in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida.
Dr. Ghohestani has been affiliated with Wal-Mart since 1999. He has been practicing inside Aurora Wal-Mart since 2002 and at the Colerain Wal-Mart since 2006. He is an active member of Ohio Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and National Optometric Association. Dr. Ghohestani has extensive experience in primary eye care, fitting specialty contact lenses: bifocal, astigmatism, gas-permeable; pediatrics vision care, treatment of eye diseases and eye infections, treatment and management of glaucoma, removal of foreign bodies, diabetic eye health evaluation, laser vision correction consultation, and cataract surgery co-management.
Dr. Ghohestani, his wife Jennifer and their three young children live in White Oak in Cincinnati. In his limited spare time, he enjoys golfing, riding his motorcycle, cycling, and numerous trips to the Cincinnati Zoo, Chuck E. Cheese, and Childrens’ Museum! Dr. Ghohestani is currently accepting new patients in his Aurora and Colerain offices.
Dr. Mark A. Abplanalp
DR. MARK A. ABPLANALP
Dr. Mark Abplanalp attended Indiana University in Bloomington for seven years where he received both his Bachelor of Sciences and Doctorate degree in Optometry in 1986. He completed externships at the Army Medical Clinic in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and the Naval Medical Center in Quanico, Virginia. He currently is licensed to practice in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
Dr. Abplanalp has over 23 years of experience in practicing optometry in various office settings in the tri-state. In addition to providing general eye exams and fitting contacts, he is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular diseases including dry eyes, glaucoma, removal of foreign bodies, diabetic eye health evaluation, laser-vision correction consultation, and cataract surgery co-management. Dr. Abplanalp is a member of the American Optometric Association.
When Dr. Abplanalp is not in the office, he enjoys travelling, participating in church-related activities, and spending time outdoors with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Abplanalp is currently accepting new patients at the Aurora office.
DR. DAVID C. WARD
Dr. David C. Ward
Dr. David C. Ward is a 1997 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry. Upon completion of his Doctorate program, he began a residency program at the Cincinnati Eye Institute. While at CEI, Dr. Ward completed post-graduate training in cataract post-operative management, glaucoma treatment, retinal disease diagnosis and management, refractive surgery evaluation, uveitis treatment, and emergency eye care.
After completion of his residency, Dr. Ward remained on staff at CEI for 2 years. He continued servicing patients in need of retinal disease, glaucoma, and uveitis treatment. Dr. Ward also spent 5 years working in the refractive surgery field, managing pre- and post-operative LASIK patients.
Dr. Ward’s main interests are primary eye care and fitting of specialty contact lenses. He enjoys working with pediatric patients as well as diagnosing and managing eye disases. Dr. Ward holds active optometric licences in Ohio and Kentucky. He has lectured and presented cases at local and regional optometric conferences. In his free time, Dr. Ward enjoys reading, fishing, and golf. Dr. Ward is currently accepting new patients at the Colerain office.

DR. JENNIFER J. SPECHT
Dr. Specht attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology in 2003. She received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2011 with the distinction of magna cum laude. She has completed clinical rotations at the Daytona Eye Center in Florida, Omni Eye Services in New Jersey, and the Dayton VA medical center in Ohio. Currently, Dr. Specht works in several types of practice settings throughout the Cincinnati area.
She has traveled to Chinandega, Nicaragua on an optometric mission trip and is interested in continuing this service in the future. Dr. Specht is a member of the Gold Key international honor society, Tomb and Key honor society, Beta Sigma Kappa honor society, the American Optometric Association, and the Ohio Optometric Association. Her primary interests are ocular disease and contact lens fitting. She plans to complete her fellowship sometime in the next two years.
In her free time, Dr. Specht enjoys reading, exercising, and spending time with friends and family. She is currently accepting new patients at the Colerain office.
